I've noticed that my clutch has been acting up. When i go to clutch, i push down almost to the floor, then i put it in gear, and start letting the clutch go while starting to accelerate. But lately, it seems like the clutch is engaging with the engine much higher. What i mean is when i'm letting the pressure go from the clutch and start accelerating more, it engages like 3-4 inches before the clutch goes back up. i'm going to try to see if the clutch is slipping this weekend when I go on the highway. Do you think its the clutch or something I could alter or correct so it engages earlier.
Thanks

Check your fluid to make sure everything is ok there. Typically when a clutch is going out your engine will spin freely for a split second when you are all the way out on the clutch. Perfect example:
When I would shift my wife's old eclipse I would be off the clutch pedal but it would take a minute to engage. I told her to take it in to get checked/replaced. She didn't listen and I had to tow her in from an hour outside of town. So morale is, get it checked soon if you think there is a problem as it could leave you stranded.
BTW, how many miles on your car? How hard/easy have you been on the clutch? I'm not sure of the typical life of an S2000 clutch, but I had 55,000 miles on my 2000 model and all was fine when I sold it.

I got 70k miles on it now... Purchased it used a while back.. I never autocross but I have taken it to the track(quartermile) a couple of times. Normally, I dont take it hard.

I went down to check the fluid and it did seem a little bit low. It seemed like the cap was a bit loose. If i go and put brake fluid dot3 inside now, would I need to bleed the clutch? I couldn't see much fluid when I checked. It was halfway down where the smaller opening begins.

I would fill it (to whatever the spec is as i don't have that handy) and then bleed the system if need be. This would rule out any issue with the hydraulics of the system. If you've been good to the clutch it should last, but like you said you bought it used and we can't be sure how the old owner treated it.
I've seen clutches go over 150K miles, but not on this particular car. I would assume a clutch could go 90K+ on this car, but I can't back that up with any hard data. Check out the under the hood section and maybe that will give you some more info.
