I don't think this car will start in neutral without using the clutch. Is that what you mean? I could be wrong though, I've never tried it.

As your clutch safety switch maybe going bad if you were pushing the clutch in and it wouldn't start. You don't know where your dipstiuck is???!!!!! how long have you had your car?

NO, im always use the clutch to start the car. What i meant was, just a few mintues ago. I pushed in the clutch and pressed the red button and then turned the key. Usually i clutch, turn key, then button. Idk whats going on with this shit but that seems wierd. w/e.

could be the clutch safety swich should be a somewhat cheap and easy fix just requires you to stand on your head.

Ok. i think i have a retarded s2k. I just went in my car. I pushed the clutch in and i pushed in the red button before turning the key. then i turned the key and it started. haha. Idk why it didnt work the right way.

Its like -5 degree farenheit over here, do you think that can affect its start up.
This tells me you may have a bad ignition switch.

and YES -5 degree temperatures will certainly effect all mechanical and electrical components to some degree. Car always run like crap in cold weather until they reach operating temp.

Yeah clutch switch seems like it. If next time your magic doesn't work, have some one hit your starter with like a broom handle or something while you start the car.

haha, sounds like you have a special edition S2000 where the dipstick is located in the drivers seat!

glad you figured it out!
