with the backing up into the parking spot, is the person who hit you paying for damages?

The truck driver was independent, so the dealership was not involved.

It really isn't visible, and from what I've read it will probably happen again even if I'm careful.

Perhaps I'll get it fixed, but probably not...

With the parking lot incident: Since both of us were backing and the location was in a parking lot, the insurance company ruled it as "equal fault." Meanwhile, I hope the chunker chokes on a ham sandwich.

congrats .. and as I always say, welcome to one of the most exciting cars of our time and welcome to one of the best car owner forums in the world.

On a side note, I need not worry about this myth of the600 mile break in period. We have a guy here in T.O. who VTEC'd from DAY ONE and nothing ever went wrong his car ? He never "babied" his '00 s2000 as many people do.. He took to just under 100kms. He literally beat it to sh**t and it performed better than the energizer battery.

So much so, that another member on our forum purchased the car.

Our cars are bulletproof with minimal care. So VTEC like there's no tomorrow..

He even posted about it..

The first scratch/dent is always the worst. You should definitely get the bumper either repaired by the trucking company or take the repair money and buy a front lip spoiler.

Within a month of owning my car, someone had already stolen the front/rear emblems and someone else had put double scratches all along the right side! There will always be @ssholes out there.

Welcome to "the most intense driving experience south of Ferrari prices!"

I've never bought a new car so I've never had to deal with break in. However, sounds like you'll be able to follow the book if the weather's still rainy. Brakes and tyres need to break in as well, so don't push them too hard right away.

Nucking Futz... Mothernucking Futz!!

I'm sooo sorry dude. The trucking company cannot walk away from the transport damage. The front spoiler idea would be a no brainer for me... The trading idea is a tough one, but definitely "doable". After repairs on any car, well nevermind......
