It's just a new word, it started when people - mainly young asian males driving asian cars started decorating their vehicles with an array of tacky decals and hideous oversized wings, spraypainted dashboards, neon lighting and all sorts of other tacky equipment. None of which made the car perform any better.
Nowdays it's not just asian males. It has spread to all races both male and female.
I think the info above is a very accurate depiction of the history of the term and I also think its very accurate. It's not a racist term its just a newly created word to describe the some of the younger generation of import car fans.
And before the asian poulation starts insulting me I must let you know I am half asian myself and the term does not bother me.

tenblade: As I stated before, it has nothing to do with who eats rice. You are talking of the evolved meaning of the word. It still doesn't change where the term comes from and that it started as a racially derogatory term. The current, expanded meaning still doesn't change the original intent. There still is no intelligent reason that anyone has given me to why anyone needs to use the term.
As long as I'm on this forum, I will challenge the use of the term until someone can prove me otherwise in an intelligent and thoughful fashion.
Telling me to shut the **** up is insufficient as an argument.
