I just like the look of it,I tought it was brushed aluminum;are you sure It's painted plastic;Somebody know for sure?
Reminds me a bit of the JDM keys,wich I consider rather NICE than RICE !!!

flash without function.
shiny things to reflect light into a driver's eyes.
sell more cars cuz there's more shiny things on the inside to touch.

Heaven forbid someone add some color to their almost 100% black interior.

I have a MUZ shift knob and I think the MY 04 radio door is a good match for the knob.

All I want to know is: when open, does it still protrude past the edge of the transmission tunnel, making me bang my knee on it all the time?

Since it's the same size, I would have to guess yes.

I'm not quite sure what is so wrong with the look of the MY 04 radio door? I guess it is a little bold, but I wouldn't call it rice.
