Here's my quote from a UK thread:
I opened the radio door half way and tugged on it however I was crapping myself thinking I'll snap something. Then sudeenly "snap" - I thought I'd buggered something.
The bottom was free but the top was pretty tight - I got a flat head screw driver and wrapped it with some masking tape and eased it between the top of the centre air vents and the dash. You have to be very careful you don't damage the dash - BE CAREFUL!!
Anyway, managed to get the whole assembly out in about 10 mins. Nothing was broken. The snapping sounds were the clips coming free from the housing.
You have to remove the pins from the radio door to free it from the air vent assembly - an old wire hanger did the trick.
The hard part was getting the spring back into place - it's not difficult, just very tricky. The whole contraption is very simple - you just need a little patience. Once I had the new door in place I tried to close it but then the spring came out of it's position!!! I spent 20 mins trying to get it into place - eventually got it right. I then tested the door about 30 odd times to see I had got it right - it was perfect. Make sure you replace the pins tentatively once you have got the spring in place - don't push them right back in until the door is functioning correctly.
All in all - 30 mins to do the whole job - quite simple once you know how.
Pics you've all been waiting for....
