Default My ******* hood won't close!

Hey guys. I today opened my hood to add some more wiper fluid. When I was done, I dropped the hood down to close it and it wouldn't close all the way.

I tried to push down (not hard) to get the hood to close and it STILL wouldn't lock in. I found one post about this that talked about hood stoppers. I tried twisting those down but that didn't do anything.

Please help. This is so ridiculous that this is happening as I'm trying to wash my car. I'd love to not have to go to the dealer.

When i got my car it took a little getting used to closing the hood, it requires to be "dropped" from a higher position in order to be closed properly.

Just got it to close from a foot up. Instead of just letting it drop, I pushed down with force by sort of snapping my wrists. It's fine now. Thanks for the replies.

The release cable may be rusty and stuck. I used WD40 and pliers to work the
cable free on my Land Cruiser at the latch end. Good luck.

I had the same experience after I bought my S. I found if I drop it from about 12"-18" it will close without any problems.

Next time, try jumping up and down on it. But take your shoes off first. That way, you won't scuff the paint.
