What does it mean when they say not for street applications? What are the other chips that exist? What are the differences between chips and CPUs in S2000's? Are chips for specific changes in engine parameters and CPU is the entire overall engine parameter changes?

A "chip" and an "ECU" are quite different. A chip is like the nerve center of the brain, the ECU is the brain. Some cars are made for their nerve centers to be upgraded (BMW), some are not. Our car does not have a "chip".
The Mugen ECU is very aggressive, so is the Amuse (but I like the idea of a 9,500 rpm rev limit), and should NOT be used unless you live in Alaska...hehe. Well, maybe Canada...haha. Just kidding, but do heed the advice above, they are more trouble than they are worth as a stand alone mod for a daily driver. Ask Mingster, he's straight up.

What about having the Mugen CPU, Header, and Exhaust? What would be the estimated HP gain? What does it mean that the CPU from Mugen is not for street applications?
What would be the effects of it on the engine in such conditions?

re: A/B switch. As long as they had power, but were never switch "ON" (from the key), the ECU should store it's setings and would just think you hadn't driven the car in a while.

Obviously the car would have to be OFF before switching ecus.

I have read and done researche on the Mugen ECU and from what I can it doesn't do much damage as long as you run the mugen thermostat/fan switch/radiator cap which runs your engine at lower temps there for not working it to hard.
