Yes, it would be nice to give the Mugen ECU the additional advantage of their oversize radiator as well as the thermo package.

How important is that?

so it sounds like most people are feeling that the ECU may not be the best way to go....do the header, exhaust first and then maybe the ECU....does anyone here have a new chip that they are running? anyone using other than OEM ecu right now?

I'd like more consistent engine performance, but not really anxious to shorten engine life.

Nobody is saying the ECU isn't the way to go, but that full consideration to the car's application should be considered. If the S2000 is a second car used for track days and weekend drives, nothing should hold you back from obtaining it's advantages. Then again as Prolene said, if it is consistenly in hot, stop n go conditions with the AC etc, you may want to maintain the safety net of the ECU protecting your engine, as well as the immobilizer protecting your stook against theft. The ECU upgrade should be thought through carefully.

How about an A/B switch so you can run both ecu's?

Not really.

I suggested the same thing in my original post but edited it out when it occurred to me that the ECUs cycle from reset to steady state for quite a while trying to learn various engine parameters. So you will not get your full performance back for a while after reset.
