The Seibon that you see in my first post is about the same weight as stock maybe even a couple of pounds heaver. Should have weighed them before I switched them out.

Just leaving it black for now is starting to grow on me; especially since I am just going to sell it in a couple of months to get the authentic Mugen hood.
Covering the lip in CF now becomes a priority instead of painting it RIO.
The fitment is extremely good on the Seibon but not perfect.

I have started messing around with Photoshop unsuccessfully so far trying to simulate some of the ideas I had on how to paint the hood.

The canards are only about 7inches long and only come out about 4 inches.
These are not big enough to actually create down force. They were custom made by a buddy at work out of lexan when he was bored one day turned out decent so we put them on. There are only 2 sets in existence such as these each with a different engraving on them. The backside on my set is engraved to read

BE HOLD THE POWER OF THE DARK SIDE.
Decided to leave it raw CF for now. I can always change my mind later if I decide to kept it and/or when it goes up for sale once I get the authentic Mugen it will be easer to sell if it is unpainted.

I am still going to put another layer of Clear over it to add another layer of UV protection.

GODSPEED.. leave this hood alone and save up for the authentic Mugen...then consider a solid color and the vents with clear coat only. Sweet.

IMHO

Paint all of it or none of it IMO..

Your splitter support rods look like they are heavy as hell and for connecting cable. Did they come with the aluminum splitter?

The turnbuckles are 3/8 dim and can support up to 1500lbs of tension a each. They did not come with the splitter as the splitter was made in my garage. What you cannot see is the splitter covers the entire area from the front lip to the lower radiator support and in-between the tires making it not only a splitter but also a skidplate.
This is an idea that I copped from one of the S2000 race cars I saw at the 24 of Nuremburg

The splitter was creating so much down force before the rods that it started to pull the front bumper off at high speeds. Thank goodness a friend was passing me on the track(Skyline) and his copilot saw it comming off.
I might have lost the entire front bumper.

The supports rods are bolted through the chassis.
How may people do you know can stand on there front lip splitter with out it ripping its self off the car or worse take something else with it.
I am 250lbs and I can jump up and down on mine and nothing breaks.

Here's a few shots of my splitter....it's Carbon fiber and very light weight....it provides the downforce needed but not the heavy duty turnbuckles...

Nice hood

I did not originally want to use the turn buckels the bumper supports the front edge of the splitter very well when not moving.

The C.G or the main weight is supported by brackets that are hidden behind the bumper and run up to the top radiator support bracket.

So only the down force created was causing the problem. Problem fixed with the turnbuckles and they only cost $15 a piece.

Nice. The hood shape and minor color variation gives the car a nice focal point, especially after removing the color from the headlights & sidelights, while maintaining most of the original good stuff on the car.
