Mugen hardtop
I understand that King has sole distribution rights in the US on Mugen parts.
How much are people paying for the fiberglass and CF versions? Retail price? Can one do better than the retail price?

Just curious, but what is your big reasoning for the Mugen part? The OEM top cost less than both, weighs the same as the Mugen fiberglass top, has a larger rear window and includes a rear window defroster (which the Mugen does not have). Don't get me wrong, the Mugen tops are nice especailly if you want the CF look, but ht OEM top is such a better deal.

I absolutely don't like the way the OEM stop looks. Too bland, everyone has it.
I don't care for the defroster because I don't leave my car out.
I have no issues with blind spots because I just lean forward and use the rear views.

I can see your points about the 2, I was just giving my opinion. As for price, you will likely pay what they are asking because I believe they are custom order items. I do not think that King keeps those in stock. I may be wrong, but they might be made to order meaning the one you order is not made until you order it. Or, you can always get one used.
I like the way the Mugen one looks better as well, but for me and the price, I would get the OEM one.

According to King Motorsports, the new cost for the Mugen carbon fiber hardtop is now $5950 (does not include shipping): http://www.kingmotorsports.com/product.asp...0&vehicle=S2000
Quite a price hike when it was only $4900 not so long ago.
I bought mine used for much less.

Honestly recently I've been seeing the mugen or mugen "style" tops just as much as the oem ones.
typical internet blowing it out of proportion.
money is not a factor here. i want the mugen top. thx all for the info.
medicalstudent, the top looks great, but i must paint if i get the cf. too much of a contrast for me.

sure it might be easy to spot online, but again... it's not even all that common online.

if money isn't a factor im not sure why you're posting to ask where you can find it cheaper than retail, you already know king sells it.
oh well. good luck with that.
