and it should not be in this forum..but Im gald you are happy with your mugen stuff!

I do not intend to dyno it or drag it.
Then what does this have to do with anything pertaining to a technical aspect? This should be in S2000 talk.

I'm happy you like your mods but everyone has their specific likes and dislikes. So how can you say mugen is god when you haven't compared to a
J's inized
todaized or
spoonized car?

Why is it a penny for your thoughts but you have to put your 2 cents in?

If money talks, why do we need bank tellers?

im not talking down to mugen. i respect them, their products and what they have done for honda. what im saying is i'd like to see/know how much exactly it improved the s2000's power.

and just a question, why do you want "max" power if you do not intend to race or even dyno it? at some point in time youre gonna take it up to 7-9k rmp are you not? if so, why not just do it on the dyno or track so you can have some number to go with it?
my friend, is drag racing the only form of racing?

I understand your satisfaction with the Mugen products. I have had a full Mugen setup for a couple of years now and and am very happy with the performance and drivability. No bog in any conditions, great low end response with strong pull to the limiter. I have dyno'd mine car several times and it consistently has about 10 to 20 more HP than other NA cars (regardless of mods) tested at the same time.. and people always wonder about the huge increase in torque 2500 to 3500 (that makes the car very comfortable to drive in town).

So I am with you on the good engineering that went into these parts, conceding that they are very expensive (I bought a number used).

Put this in any forum. I don't care. I just wanted to share my excitement and opinions. J's parts are copies of mugen except for the header which is larger diameter(see above for exhaust explanation; their intake is copy of the original mugen). Toda makes mostly internals, a header, and a dual exhaust. I had there header originally and was not satisfied with it. Their dual is identical piping and canisters to the mugen, but has different tips. As for toda internals, I don't know how good they are and am not interested in going internal. The car doesn't need it. Spoon makes good exhaust, but the rest of their parts are not to my liking.
I was just trying to make a point but it seems that you missed that.

Thanks cdelena for some actual information on this subject. Do you have the dyno plots that you can post up here for others to see? I'd like to see the extra torque that your putting down in the lower half of the rpm range.

cdelena - I happened across a thread where Fperra dynoed his car with the Mugen header/exhaust and saw what seemed to be a loss of HP/TQ when compared to the other S2K's that were dynoed that same day. Do you have any comments as to what may have happened? I would imagine that his car just happened to be a factory dud, but the notion that Mugen mods don't equate to impressive gains has been noted around here.

Edit: Found his dyno. I hope he doesn't mind me showing this.

And here's a stock '01 for reference that was dynoed the same day. Again, my apologies to whomever this belongs to and me not asking for permission.
