I have read many posts on mugen exhausts, it seems like I cant get a definite answer to how loud it is? Some people say its quiet, some say its loud? Any mugen ex. owners out there?

I currently have a stock exhaust system. One night I had a chance to drive clovis' car with the HKS and cdelena's with the Mugen back to back.
Impressions -
HKS - low tone in the lower RPM's - the thing rocks in the upper RPM's giving an F1-ish (dont hurt me for that one) sound.
Mugen - only a little bit of a rumble over stock. Didn't hear it most of the time.
From the outside of the car, I've heard the Mistress with its Mugen exhaust, didn't hear much at all. Couldnt' tell it was a Mugen exhaust unless I noticed the pipes in the back.
Power gain - uhhhh, that's not what you are buying it for. very minimal, not very noticable for naturally aspirated cars in my opinion.
Weight savings - this is the big advantage to the Mugen since its Ti.

I have had the stock, then HKS, then Mugen exhaust.
IMO the Mugen is exactly what the car needed.. that is that it makes the exhaust audible at all rpm ranges without being so loud as to become an irritant. It has a resonance in the midrange at certain throttle openings that I would rather not have but it less intrusive than the HKS.
The HKS has a deep sound that reminds me of a big sport bike (sorry guys, the S2000 does not make F1 sounds under any conditions). It has a beautiful note going through the rpm range and I gave it up only because the midrange resonance was too much for me when the top is up.
The HKS is well built and all pieces weigh close to the 50lbs that the quiet stocker weighs. The Mugen is made of polished stainless with ti mufflers so it is about half the weight.

I have to admit though, the sounds you hear while driving the car can sometimes be very different than what others hear from outside the car.
