You want some rumors? First, everyone knows there is Civic Si coming next out his fall. There is already a Civic Type R in Europe that is sort of the hatchback version of the RSX (RSX will be only a 2-door coupe). Honda will kill the Lude and come out with a 6 speed, 6 cylinder Accord sport sedan for the 2003 model year. This comes from a Honda employee.

From what I have heard, the Accord Coupe will be made "sportier" to help fill the void of the Prelude but the S2000 is definitely not going to replace it.
The RSX is the Acura Integra replacement and it is based on the new Civic platform so Honda will not be getting a version of it. Hopefully the next Civic Si will be a hot car again and while it seems that it will be in coupe form as it was in 2000, I am hoping for a hot 3 door hatch like this:
or at least the basic version

Yep, but the TypeR supposedly puts out 200hp. Not sure what it weighs in at- but I'm pretty sure its lighter than most other 200hp producing cars. And I'm sure you get typical honda gas milage.
It would be a nice second car for commuting, shopping, hauling dead bodies... that sort of thing.

Oh man is that Type R Civic ugly. Just like SkitZo says....looks like a Focus except Honda at least puts the taillights in the proper place. Honda has many models that never make it to the US...lets hope this is one. Frankly, I'd rather see the 5 door hatch Civic like Europe has. The RS-X will most definitely be a Prelude buyer's new choice. And as for exclusivity.......I have my 97 del Sol VTEC which rumor places it as one of no more than 800. I really don't worry too much about the Stook becoming a dime a dozen. Even if they produce it for 2 more years it will still be fairly rare. If anyone actually believed that Honda would retool an entire plant for a 2 year run they are out of their mind.

Has anyone looked at the Prelude sales figures lately? They're selling fewer Preludes than S2000s!! All Honda needs to do (and will likely do) is put a manual tranny (likely just a 5spd) in the V6 Accord Coupe to fill the Prelude niche. Hopefully this tranny will also make it to the CL, TL, and 4dr Accord!
