Default moving in to college

well i move in to college tomorrow. i am going to want to buy a nice alarm system for it. i want something that is loud and will do a good job of protecting the s. i really wanted to do the factory alarm system from honda but they want almost 700$. i was wondering if there is anything better out there and if there are any good names to go with? i was looking at python and viper but i'm not really sure on what to get. what is the best one to go with, any other name brands are helpful as well. thanks guys... have a great night

Planning to park your S in a college dorm parking lot? Think I would rather enter it into my county fair demolition derby.

If you're staying in a dorm, goodluck! No alarm will protect your car, unless you hire a guard to keep an eye on your car at all times. I stayed in an off campus apartment and just took the bus to school. The apartment was pretty nice, so it was much safer than actually being on campus. But I STILL was a victim of a hit and run.

A loud alarm will just be an annoyance rather than true protection.

Leave it at home, don't do it. I lived in the dorm a couple years ago and every week there is some form of vandalism or theft in the parking lot. Do you and your car a favor and leave it at home.

Unhappy

I am going off to Uni aswell, but not for a couple of weeks, I am also worried about my car in the dorm parking lot. I have a compustar 2w8000FMR with a proximity censor, but I am still very worried about it.

I called the school and just asked about how safe the parking lot is, and they assured me it was very safe, and that the lady has never heard of a break in. I however did not mention I owned a S2000...

PS I am very worried about my car, as it is my only car for school, and I worked my ass for it. I am also unable to live off campus due to budget...

I can guarantee that your car will be screwed up no matter what alarm you have...save your money and leave the car home

I wouldn't be worried about anyone breaking in. I'd be worried about vandalism, and an alarm won't stop that. At best, an alarm will let you know after the fact.

when I parked in the dorm parking lots my car got egged, kicked, and got huge dents put into it.

I think having a nice car in college is just asking for hate from the majority of people whom either don't drive or can't afford what you have
