Mouse in the S

Mouse in the S
Well, I've been a member to the site for a few months, and have never posted, but I've got to tell this story to people who can appreciate it, and maybe help someone avoid what I went through....
First of all, last fall I purchased a 2001 S, Silverstone/red/black with 9000 miles. By far the best toy I've ever owned, and worth keeping until I trade up to a newer one.
So, I'm temporarily living with a friend while I'm building a house, and I'm able to park the car in his garage. A week ago he tells me he saw a mouse in the garage, and being 95 degrees outside, I didn't figure the mouse would hang out long. Usually, they come in during winter, but apparently this mouse was searching for AC.
Saturday evening I'm headed to a BBQ, I've got the cooler of beer in the trunk, I'm headed to pick up the woman and it's going to be a good night.......No more than 2 minutes after leaving home, I'm cruising a 2 lane highway at about 45mph and the mouse comes walking down the top of the door next to me, wind in his hair! Not only do I scream like a little biatch, but I go to knock him out of the car, and he jumps down into the car. I immediately pull to the side, get out and move the seat forward and there he is, and of course he runs under the seat. So now I'm screwed. There is no way I can catch the little bastard, so it looks like he's going to a BBQ. I stop at the carwash and try to vacuum him out, but never knew if he had jumped out of the car yet or not.
After ONE MINUTE at the carwash, the hot wire from my battery back to my SIRIUS control box (under the seat) IS SMOKING! There is a line of white smoke from the battery down the jamn, under the door trim and under the passenger seat! At this point I thought the car was going to go up in flames. I yanked on the burning wire to disconnect it, burning the $hit out of my hand. Pulled the seat forward, and the wire had burned through the carpet in a few places 4-5 inches long. The little bastard was eating wires, caused the short and almost cost me a car.
My girlfriend didn't want to ride in the car, so I told her i thought he jumped out.
I left the car open at the BBQ hoping he would jump ship, and this morning on my way home I stopped and picked up 4 glue traps. I didn't want to d-con him and have him die in the car. After vaccuming the car out, setting the traps and closing the car up for 2 hours, I am proud to announce I caught me a mouse. I put 3 traps inside the car, and one in the trunk where the spare is, and the trunk is where he was caught. It was actually pretty fun watching him squirm around on the trap after all he put me through. He even ate the ends of some of the brushes on the track for the top, and also some of the matting in the spare tire area.
He's no longer with us......
My advice to anyone who lives in an area where there are field mice, spend $3 on sitcky traps and set them around the perimeter of your garage. I have no idea how he got into the car, but you cannot find them once they do.....

I hope he suffered.....something else you might want to check is your air box.
I have lots of oak trees around my house and the little bastards were putting
acorns in my air box....you cant suck em in your intake if the filter is on but
none the less they are in there.
