The most expensive cars to insure are:
1. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
2. Mercedes CL-Class
3. Dodge SRT-4
4. Subaru Impreza WRX
5. Jaguar XK
6. Lexus IS 300
7. Honda S2000 <---- lucky #7
8. Acura RSX
9. Nissan 350Z
10. Jaguar XJ
Owning one of these cars is bad news for your monthly insurance bill. But there's a bright side: none of these cars makes the top 10 most stolen cars list.

just some intersting facts i stumbled upon. Excuse me if something like this has all ready bin mentioned. Btw what makes the s2000 so expensive to insure?.. the design, technology, or is it just alot if idiots totaling their s2k making it a drag for us.

ICBC disagrees

These are scans of ICBC quotes that I got a few years back before buying mine
Interestingly enough, the S2000's rate has dropped even further than this since getting this quote. I pay exactly $3000/yr for full comprehensive + collision with $300 deductibles, $3 million liability, under insured motorist protection, $200 deductible on glass coverage.

Try having an undercover cop literally speed just to catch up to you, and clock you going 65 in a 30mph zone....only to get a warning. Gotta love Orlando.

These insurance threads crack me up.
1) Everybody starts comparing what they pay despite the fact that there are so many variables that go into determining a premium that it's near impossible to make comparisons.
2) There's always several people that misunderstand the metric behind the survey and call , generally siting their own example as the reason that it HAS to be wrong.
3) There's almost always at least one tweener that comes on announcing that he's about to blow his uncle's lottery winnings on a single year's worth of insurance premiums just to drive an S2000.

Age, sex, vehicle, geographic location, miles/day, driving record, marital status, credit rating, and other factors may be used by insurance compannies to determine your premium.

We're even getting examples in Euros and Canadian dollars. Posting you're premiums without give all the specifics makes it impossible to compare. It would be nice if a 24 YrOld in an 06 S2000 payed the same on both coasts, but the insurance companies have made calculating premiums as complex as Tax Law.
