How about a Valentine V1 for $500 to get around as fast as you can in stock form and not worry about tickets? Use the other $500 for fuel or rear tires maybe.

gears with a beefier diff and install by hardtop goy or ricks is around $1300-1400, to install the diff will be anouther $200 if you do it at honda etc. Or in my case almsot $400 because they stripped my screws.....

Ok, now I'm so confused I actually registered to write this... 
In this thread (and others on the subject of limited budget upgrades) I read different suggestions (though the diff gear change seems most popular).
So. What do I find confusing? Simple. Noone has mentioned coilovers, which is what I'll be getting first. Why is this? Are you guys always going in straight lines, or am I missing something here?

The stock suspension on our cars is VERY good and most coilovers for our cars will arguably make the car handle worse then stock so unless you go with a higher end coilover system (more then most of the $1,000 JDM brands) then you car will not really handle better at all. Most people that drive their cars on the street upgrade to coilovers just to lower the car and are not really concerned about getting better handling then stock. There is plenty of info about this on the site and now that you are registered you can start to search through it

Right;very hard and costly,to improve on the S2k suspension,in terms of handling.Most cheap coilovers,wil result in worse handling than stock OEM.
Only exception I know of,is Bilstein PSS,for +/- $1200.00.
