Default Modifying Stock Seats

I have been daily driving my S since I purcahsed it recently. My commute is about 1-2 hours daily to NYC and back. The car has been great, my only complaint is about the seats. After about an hour, my lower back starts to hurt (I am not old either, 18 y/o). Have any of your guys ever modified the stock seats for extra lower back support? I really like the seats and do not want to buy aftermarket ones. Have any of you other guys that daily drive ever had the same problem?

Sam

Put something behind the middle pad in the seat. You can slide a towel or thin cushion behind the middle padding.

I have the same problem, i bought a lumbar support. It is like a pillow and is molded to fit a car seat and works great. I forget where I got it but there out there

I have been using an inflatable lumbar support transferred from my previous miata. The S2K seats have thicker padding but it still helps. The best one I have seen is still the miata favorite.

I also have these lumbar supports in my S and had them in my Miata. They are easy to install and I have no lower back problems on long drives. It was the first mod I did to the car.

Do you mean behind the leather itself?? Please elaborate on how to do this.. There is absolutely no lumbar support in this car..

The perforated portion of the seat back is an 'insert'. If you slide your fingers in the crease between the perforated and solid bolster, you will see that you can place a towel/small pillow/inflatable bladder.

Hope that helps.

This definitely works, but I once threw a T-shirt in there for a temporary fix, and forgot about it. I looked for that T-shirt everywhere in my house for months, before one day, i realize what I'd done with it.

Moral: Don't use a t-shirt that you like to wear.
