modifying the stock exhaust
for those that don't want to get a new exhaust, are there any options to modifying the stock one? if you cut one of the mufflers off, how much weight would you save and would there be any performance drawbacks?

I was just thinking of the same thing yesterday. 
I would like to cut off one of the mufflers and replace the other with a lighter one if no performance would be affected.
