IIRC - I think the widespread word around here is that AP1s are the one's that burn oil. The AP2s seem to be much better on the oil usage front.

I didn't say all AP1s burnt oil, I just said AP2s were less likely to burn oil. Since the OP has an AP2, I thought this was relevant.

I use 10w-30 Mobil 1 Synthetic, I burn allmost no oil- But after owning many Vtec motors i persoanlly can relize how vtec sounds and feels towards the end of my oil change- Call me crazy!

With an 06, you are less likely to see an oil burning problem like the 00-03's might see. Still good to check you oil frequently until you get used to your car's oil usage.

I have used mobil 1 since i got the car, but my last oil change I wanted to try something different, so I opted for pennzoil advanced 10w-30 synthetic and oddly enough, my cold morning startups are alot smoother. The car would want to shut off after the initial startup when its 20deg or so, but with the pennzoil, I can start it up and immediately release the clutch and it stays running. I might stick with the pennzoil, the car seems to run better with it.
