Mixing Paint for Bumper
Any paint experts out there?
Would anyone know how difficutl it is to mix a Rio Yellow Pearl paint?
I have a 2004 Rio Yellow Pearl S2000, and I just bought a Top Secret Full Bumper the other day. (http://www.topsecretjpn.com/products/jap1.htm)
I don't wanna go through painting the entire car, considering I just bought it back in July, and I really like the color.
I know that I'll never be able to get a paint as good as the ones used in the factory, and considering the fact that they'll have to use a soft paint for a bumper doesn't make the matter any easier...
Would anyone have any idea? Or better yet, would anyone know of a really good paint shop around Orange County, CA?

yes definitely you will need a professional body shop to mix the paint to the proper color. There is special equipment that can determine the amount of pigment and pearl to use. you won't be able to get the correct color mixing it at home.

Oh, I didn't mean that I was gonna mix it at home I'm not that much of a challenger.
But I was concerened 'cause all my friends (who, most are in the car business, working for tune-up shops, etc) have said that paint shops can never get it to match 100%, nor do they have access to paints that are of the quality that are used in the Hoonda factory.
That's why I am concerened. Had it been just a front wing or something, like Mugen's, then I wouldn't of minded, but since its a full bumper....

You need to go to a GOOD body shop, that's the key. You pay for what you get.. it might be a little expensive but at least it will match and the paint won't start coming off after a few months.

Your friends are right. Some shops may get close to a match but don't expect it to be perfect. The paint on your car is a triple stage and is very hard to match.
BTW, Honda doesn't use any high quality special type of paint. The aftermarket paint that comes from Dupont and others is most likely better than the paint that Honda uses.
