Miles Per Gallon

Average 22mpg around town mostly, though after the Spoon exhaust, I averaged 27 with that fillup used for the SoCal meet and around town. So far, gas mileage seems to be quite a bit better after the Spoon exhaust, but I am keeping an eye on this and should know after a few more fills up.

OK...I picked up my 2004 S2000 a year ago and have basically driven it around town and to work and back using state highways. Some highway driving, but nothing very far, so perhaps 15 miles on the interstate at any given time. I will goose her now-and-again, so I'm sure that impacted gas mileage a bit but overall, 25-27 mpg. I was genuinely pleased given my 2004 Accord get around 28-30 under the same conditions. This past week, I was on a business trip and elected to take the S2000 to see what she could do on the highway. 150 miles to and 150 miles back and nearly all highway (only about 5 miles on ramps and back streets to the facility). On the way there, I set the cruise control to 65 mph and got 30 mpg. On the return, I set the cruise control at 60 mph and averaged 32 mpg. I was pretty impressed given the best I've seen the Accord get was 35 mpg (cruise control was not used and speeds were variable between 60 and 75 mph though).
Doing 60 mph on the ride back was pretty difficult to say the least! The expirement though was to satisfy my curiosity. If you can keep the foot out ot it, you can get very respectable gas mileage out of your S2000. When you do some lighter driving, you still get respectable mileage. If you tach it out, you'll get what you get...and most aren't upset (see earlier posts)! Enjoy the ride!

There were a couple newer threads, but this one was appropriately titled for those who use the Search tool. Yowza, Yowza, Yowza!! :-)

In that case I will contribute and help make it relevant to newer searches. I have been getting 22.5-23MPG pretty consistently in my AP1. ~40-50 degree weather, 93 octane, "summer oriented" all seasons, 70%city/30%Highway, VTEC on on-ramps and good corners. I have only managed 25-26 on the few highway tanks (75-80MPG typically). I am hoping to improve these numbers since replacing my fairly dirty air filter and the (presumably) stock plugs with 97K miles on them (replaced with copper core plugs). The warmer weather should help as well. We'll see......
