Micro Flakes In Oil? Advice
Hey guys,
changed my oil today as I do every 3-4k miles. Once all drained I always inspect the oil within the container I put it in. I noticed some micro almost like dust flakes that have a silver like shine to them. Should I be concerned ? I haven’t changed my oil in probably 8 months so I couldn’t recall how it usually looks.I plan on sending a sample off to Blackstone. Also, for back story. I use this same container to change the gear oil on my dirt bike and minutes prior to changing my oil I dumped old bike oil out and rinsed this out with water so it’s possible these flakes are from my bike which is a normal thing for atvs etc. so I may be physching myself out.. anyways here is a picture. Also it may just be water and oil meeting from when I rinsed kind of beading up it’s really hard to tell

The picture above is after an oil change in my dirt bike, the red circled is similar to what I’m seeing but a lot less dense. I believe this may just be left over that made it past the quick water rinse. I’ll probably still send a sample off for piece of mind. Still open to you guys thoughts ..
