Default Megan Header or 4.44s

So basically, here is my situation: I'm making good power with just my exhaust and TP, and I'm pretty sure that even a cheaper header like Megan could net me 4-5 HP and some good torque. The cost for the job would be $325 (header) + $130 (install) = $455. Otherwise, I could order the 4.44 gears online for $450, yellow box for $90, and have the setup installed for $390. That's more than twice as much money, but would be a sure speed improvement too. I'm only doing one right now... I want to start making double payments and get my car paid off by summer, so that means after this one, no more mods for a little bit.

Thoughts?

easy. 4.44s.

get the 4.44s from motorklasse... i think they were goin for 360 shipped.

drop the pumkin yourself (takes about 2 hrs first time) and have raceline or ramjet install it for 150 bucks.

get the modifry yellowjacket, which is 45 bucks + shipping. install it yourself. easy.

You can install a header in under 2 hours - 135 for install is anal rape.

With that said, gears are a much better investment.

I called three places... quotes ranged from $135 to $200 for well-known S2000 places. I suppose a muffler shop could be cheaper, but I don't trust people who aren't used to our cars.

You'll feel a difference with the gears, but not with the header.

I know you want to get your car paid off but, ......If you scrap one or two of the double payments you would be able to get both the gears and header! The grin on your face would be priceless! (P.S. Stop by Bionic Records and say Hi)

Dude, I've been meaning to stop in there forever. Like I said a long time ago, your S was one of the first ones that made me want the car.

I might end up getting both... I have very little self control with my car lately.

I took a freeway trip in 5th gear to simulate what it would be like. The power on tap was nice, but the RPMs drove me nuts. Plus, I just found out you can buy 4.44s from Mazda sites for reasonable prices.
