Default Meeting with Honda Rep

Just wondering if any of you guys have met with a Honda Rep (Dealer Rep) about problems with cars before. I guess my main question is how did you go about telling them the problem? I have a ripped softtop and the service manager said he couldnt do anything for me but he would have the rep look at it when she comes in. I was hoping to try to get a hardtop for cheap instead of changing the soft top. The rip is in a place in which it would look really bad to patch (already took it to and convertible top place). I am guessing in this situation sugar is better than salt. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions.

just be honest and tell them that your pissed your 32000.00 sports car top has fallen appart and would be shocked if they were unable to help you out due to the HUNDREDS of reported claims that customers have made in the past few years. Be cool, and they are cool, you catch more flys with Honey....
btw. my good buddy lives in Canton

It is a 6 year old car. It's going to be hard to convince them to repair or replace it. If you were just out of warranty, maybe. But I don't see them owing you anything. If you're really nice, they'll sell you a hardtop at cost. Maybe ~$2000-2200. Less than that, I wouldn't hold your breath.

here's a link to some help, but not for the hardtop just a soft replacement.

I just went through this with my Tampa dealer.1st I called honda of america,i started a case file with them stating the top has a hole due to a defect. i then went to my dealer, whom i do all my service and maintenace with, to have it inspected. they called the honda rep and a few weeks later he inspected my defective top. in my case they offered me 50% warranty assistance,my cost would have been about a 1000 dollars. i bought the car from that dealer in 04 new. i was hoping for 100% but that did not happen. i still have a small tear in the top and have not had it replaced as of yet. but i still may get it done. hope this helps..

Thanks for the help. I will let you know the outcome of the meeting. I would love if they would give me a hardtop at cost though.
