Mastergrade & bad publicity.

I think they had a good thing going with ideas, but I've heard soooo many stories of their crap not fitting anywhere near right and bad weave on the CF that I wouldn't touch their stuff if they gave it to me. It's not just old stories either. Every few months or so someone posts up that they're still waiting on their order or something arrived damaged and they won't take care of it. Just not worth it IMO no matter what they come up with unless you live local and can personally inspect the part.
and they're not that cheap either $$$,bad management,I guess.

Customer service is poor. Basically they give run arounds and the whole "tracking number" fiasco.
It's like rolling dice when it comes to their products. Honestly it's that way with most CF parts.
If you have lots of time and money I'm sure you can quality CF eventually but most people have one but not the other.

Take a good look at the very same pictures you yourself posted up. You can see that the trunk is already beginning to bow and the gap is uneven (ie, crooked). If you can see this in a picture, imagine what it looks like in real life.
If you like their stuff so much, do let anyone here talk you out of it. Just remember: "BUYER BEWARE!"

When I saw this trunk (the one pictured) in person on a members car. It fit perfect and the weave and the hood look really good. Was a little surprised, it fits better than the Seibon/C-wing and VIS ones that i've seen. But all C/F trunks that I metioned before all didn't fit too well.
It also seems thatmost people who get good service are the people that are local to them, and are able to deal with them face to face and able to pick up their items.

If the fitment isn't good, isn't it prone to getting leaks when it rains?

I have their carbon fiber interior door panels, A-pillars and windsheild top frame... all of them fit great with no complaints. I also purchased all of these pieces used from other members so I have never dealt with Mastergrade directly.

I have met the guys from MasterGrade many times and seen their shows cars. As you would expect they are nice guys to hang out with and have a beer. I have seen and heard too many complaints and customer service nightmares to recommend them though. I think if they would step up the quality control (both product and service) they could be successful. It would take a long time though, trust is a difficult thing to win back.
It is as said, management problems.

You cant be serious about getting a trunk that is so ugly and has its own rain gutter?
