Making the jump from enthusiast to owner...
Well, I have researched, got my loan, got my insurance info and I am ready to buy a new '02. I wan to get a new Black/Black, but wanted some opinions on where I can get the best deal. I have been to 1 dealer in Arlington, VA (Brown Honda) and they were doing NO Negotiating. I would like to get this car for under MSRP preferably out the door at $31k. Does anyone have any reccommendations for any dealerships in the Northern VA / MD area that I might have some luck?
Any considerations would be helpful! Thanks!
P.S. - I live in Virginia, if I buy the car at a Maryland dealership, would I have to pay VA and MD taxes?
Thanks for everyone's help in response!

I bought my car out of state (Louisiana) and registered it in my home state (Texas). I only had to pay my Texas taxes. Nothing at all to the state of Louisiana. I also remember my dad buying his M3 here in Austin and taking it back to his home state of Oklahoma. He didn't have to pay any taxes here in Texas, only the taxes in Oklahoma when he registered it. So I guess what I'm saying is that unless MD and VA are much different than the states down here you'll only have to pay the Virginia taxes.
Since I'm so far away from you, I'm not of much help in finding a dealer selling them for cheap. Sorry.

I bought a used '02 from an s2ki member. It had 3500 miles, was near perfect condition and I flew (used FF miles so flight was free) to pick it up in a neighboring state. I purchased it for $29k from one of the nicest folks you'd ever hope to meet and the ride back home (one day total) through the Rocky Mountains was one of the funnest days of my life. Perhaps broaden your search and consider buying used if you already have your loan in place. I have absolutely no regrets and I'd wager I got one of the best deals ever seen on this bbs. Prior to opening up my options I was going through dealers and it was a nightmare. I had dealers actually trying to steal my deposit. Another totally blew her cool and insulted me cause I was still hesitant to buy. Both those cars were used, both earlier year S2Ks and had higher miles than the one I bought and both were asking almost $2k higher than I eventually paid. An added bonus of buying from an s2ki member is you can search every post they've ever made or responded to and get a feel for how the car was cared for. My seller was perfect. I wish you luck in your search. I can tell you've done your homework because you've definitely made the best color choice.

Thanks for your replies guys...I will probably have to widen my horizon, but I just can't take the time to go real far to find a car...I know that sounds selfish, but ah well! Wish me luck!

You are smart because in being patient, you may save a couple of grand and still get the wonder car.
If you buy out of state, you will have to pay sales tax of WHERE YOU LIVE when you register the car. There is no way to avoid that.
Well, maybe there is!
If you buy from a private owner, how the heck is the place where you register going to know what you paid for the car? Tell them you bought it for $1. Bingo, you've avoided sales tax.
Umm, maybe they can check the loan amount some how, but I'm not sure. When you buy from a dealer, they give you paperwork that you must take to the registration place showing how much sales tax the dealership collected. I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen with private, non-dealership sales.
When I bought an Integra in '96 from a private party, I didn't pay a penny of sales tax to anyone. In '00 when I bought my Acura CL-S from a dealership, the state socked me with over $2k in sales tax. Ouch!
If you are "looking for a deal", maybe buying from a private owner would help because you avoid sales tax.
I don't think I'm out in left field on this one. If I am, please someone respond to this and correct me.
