I greatly appreciate the detailed information including what products to use.

Has anyone brought their S2k into a Honda dealer for out-of-warranty repair work? Do they typically honor it?

I would love to get the clutch replaced to reduce clutch chatter, and a replacement of the synchros for the 2nd gear grind issue.

Here's my personal change plan to make things simpler:

I've had the dealership do the diff, brakes, transmission, but I'll probably be doing them myself soon.

Oil - 5k Mobil 1 Synthetic (Walmart has for $22 for 5Qts)
Diff - 15k ??
Brake - 30k ATE Super Blue (buy online?)
Tranny - 30k GM Syncromesh/Pennzoil Syncromesh (Autozone has Pennzoil)
Clutch Fluid - Whenever it gets dark, Every 1 to 2 years. There is no recommended interval change.

Typically you can source Honda fluids for transmission, differential, and brakes. Clutch fluid is the same as brake fluid.

I'd say:

Engine oil (Mobil 1 10w-30 IMO)
Diff (Almasol LE1605)
Transmission (Honda's new MTF)
Brakes (ATE Super Blue fluid)
Air filter
Cabin filter (Seriously, this thing can get NASTY)
Windshield washer fluid (just top up if needed)
Shin-Etsu on the rubber bits of the soft top
Spark plug recall (new plugs and new torque spec)
Tail light recall (some faded and became non-compliant with DOT regs)
Seat belt recall (tensioner can sometimes make it difficult to pull out. I've never had it done because my seatbelts work fine and I don't want some monkey taking out most of the interior to fix it.)
Tires (if there's any cracking from age, or they're down to wearbars)
Air pressure of spare tire
Battery (mine lasts three years in Texas heat)
