"Maintenance required" light trends?
I have a stock 2003 S2000 bought last April, with 5600 miles. My only maintenance has been to change the oil. I haven't driven it much for the last few months as weather has turned wetter here on the west side of the Puget Sound. I noticed a few weeks ago that the "Maintenance required" light came on for a short time (10-15 seconds) while normal driving on the highway, then went off. Haven't seen it since while driving, but it does stay on and blink for 5-10 seconds after starting, which it did not do in the past. Any ideas?
Thanks

mine came onafter my 24K mi oil change.
there's a trick to get the light off, but I forget how. something like hold the mileage reset button while turning the key to couple of clicks... I FORGET! hopefully someone can chime in a to help.
But also, in your case, can't you just take it in for a check up covered under your warranty?

From owners manual page 51:
" To reset the maintenance required indicator, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position, then press and hold the trip meter reset button while you turn the ignition switch ON. Continue holding the button until the indicator resets (the indicator light goes out)."
PM if you have any other questions.

it could be that even though that the oil has been changed lately the level is low...I have read threads here that you should check the oil level frequently.....our engines eat oil.

This is a "Reminder" light. It comes 7500 miles after is was last reset (Maintance Schedule A). Since many of us "Drive it like we stole it", we change our oil every 3750 (Maintance SChedule B). That is why we just trun it off when we see it.
I hope that helps explain it.
P.S. Check your oil often.
