Default Maintenance Required?

This morning I noticed that my Maintenance Required light blinks for a few seconds when I start her up. After a couple of seconds it goes away and doesn't start blinking again until I start her up again. Is this normal?

Now that I'm finished being a wise-guy, you'll find a helpful FAQ in the "Under the Hood" forum that addresses this concern as well as many other mechanical and electrical issues with the S2000.

The "Maint Req" light comes on at regular mileage intervals as a reminder to have service done. To turn it off, follow these steps:
1. Make sure that the ignition key is in the off position.
2. Push down on the reset button located on the right side of th instrument panel.
3. While holding the reset button down, turn the ignition key to the on position.
4. Keep holding down the reset button until the Maint Req light goes off.
5. The reminder indicator is now reset and will start flashing at you in other 6,000 miles (approximately).

Thanks guys! ...I guess I really should read the manual! Assuming I can find it... it's in the secret compartment, right? LOL

Thanks again,

Dean
