I was seeing how to launch from dead stop! I reved to about 8-9k and released the clutch. Car didn't go anywhere, plus I redlined it passed 9k thinking the car is taking off! Car stinks like crazy now of burnt clutch. I know, I know....STUPID!!!!
That was the end of my launching experiment!

Hey Steve, don't feel too bad. I did it too when I first have the car but you will get better with it. Start out slow like 4-6K then move up gradually. Practice makes perfect

Thats kinda funny, I let the same thing happen to me the other night when i finally got the break-in period all finished up with. The stench is horrible!

Sounds like you guys have the weak clutch. Go to your dealer and tell them your clutch has a metallic ring between 3 and 4K on decelleration and there is a TSB on it. You'll get a new clutch under warrenty thats much stronger.

socal28,

You have to jump off the clutch as fast as you can bud!

Be happy it was your clutch and not your differential.

That's the factory clutch not holding. If you get the TSB done, you can light 'em up at will. Take it to your dealer, tell them about the "intermittent" grind, and get the new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. Therefore you'll have the updated assembly.

It's exactly what happened to me before I got the TSB done.

I am sure this has been answered before, but I am assuming that the new clutch is already in the new cars? Anyone know for sure?

Many thanks in advance.
