M3 Vs S2000
#12
OK, please explain me why the S2000 is quicker in Tsukuba than the M3.
Also explain me why the amuse S2k (250hp 1150kg) is almost a lap faster than the M3's (A36 & A46) on a 10 lap race..

As someone who has tracked all of the cars in question here -- I can say without a doubt that the order I listed the cars in my first post is how they would finish in any type of "race" -- especially if that race happened to be at the drag strip.
If you want to start comparing stock cars to modified ones, by all means be my guest, but know that it is entirely pointless.

Wait, Best Motoring videos are not fake , or unfair or sth else. But they tend to prove that expensive high powered cars, can be "easily" beaten by cheap, well balanced, lightweight cars.
Steve C, don't forget that we're some kind of friends here. I don't want to blame you.
ITR faster than the S2k? Ok take a look at this:
ON TRACK BATTLES:
Toyota Hatchiroky (160 hp) beats Subaru WRX sti (320 hp)
Toyota MRS (190hp) beats Nissan Sylvia S15(350hp)
Amuse S2000 (250hp) beats Race spec, EVO7 (320hp)
please post a likt to that video if you can!! (the one where the ITR wins the S2k) Thanks!

I will look for it.
Regardless, I don't have any faith in BM videos, they are good entertainment for sure, but not a valid indication as to how cars compare in the real world.
In reference to the original point of this thread, what car you choose depends on what you are looking for. The M3's, aside from the early E30 cars are very different from the S2000 in that they are a GT car, while the S2000 is more of a pure sports car. Each is fun in it's own regard and you don't have to not like one in order to like the other. Evidence of this is found in the fact that numerous folks here own one of each.

I own neither but from the time I have spent at the track the S is definately a rough contender. The m3 is just too heavy for lap work.
You could also poll the m3 with a type r or newer rsx s.
