Lowering Driver's side seat

Thanks for the update. I really appreciate the effort you took to check and now understand what you did. You were bolder than I when it came to "modifying" the pan .
Lowering the stock seat is limited by the space between the bottom of the metal pan and the floor. There is about an inch to gain there, and it sounds like you've acheived that inch. I don't think lowering brackets will help the situation for you. The next step is to further modify the pan by cutting/lowering the front lip and removing padding. I guess about another inch can be gained there. The alternative that I'm pursuing does involve an aftermarket seat and modified stock seat tracks (estimated at about $800 total), and I'm hoping for a 2-3" drop. When I priced out the option of modifying the pan and having a new cushion fabricated, the cost came out higher by about $200! The beautiful Mugen seat and rail set costs about $1250, but the seat has pretty high sides; not ideal for commuting. One added benefit to replacing the seat is that this leaves the stock seat intact for resale or future use.
