Lowering
I purchased my AP2 a couple of months ago. I just luv it so much.
It has 3K miles on it now. I want to get it lowered. I am happy with its current ride quality.. I don't want anything too much stiffer than OEM.. this baby already break my bank the time I buy it.. I really can't afford a coilover.. You guys are pros. Can you recommend a set of lower springs that's compatible with my OEM ride quality and OEM shocks of course. I might need to keep my OEM shocks for another 30K miles before I can afford to buy a new one.. =P Thanks guys.

Thanks. But with eibach pro-kit, do you think I can keep my oem shocks for another $30K miles? I was told after-market springs can speed up the life of the oem shocks!!! =)

I ran these springs for about 2 years on my AP1 with no problems. loved them till I could afford my race specs I called Eibac to find out what the spring rates were on the pro kit because I wanted something with a similer spring rate in a coilover. Eibac informed me of the weight and also something interesting they informed me was that typicly the pro kit is progressive wound for most cars but are strait rate for the s2000, just fyi. you'll like the way they handle though if you want something not to stiff, they are only 20% stiffer then stock with the -1 drop. Perfect for most daily drivers.

Funny, but I have also talked to Eibach, and been told that the S2000 springs ARE progressive. Before we put the springs on my car, we put one of the rear springs on a press and scale, and the rate seemed to increase as the spring was compressed. They may not be progressive (they don't loook obviously progressive) but both my conversations with Eibach and my measurements (admitedly sloppy) have lead me to believe that they are.
I'd really like to hear from someone from Eibach on this.

Interesting, I was always led to beilive they were progressive too as this was kind of a selling point for me with Eibach, but after talking with a rep on some spicific questions as mentioned earlier I was told otherwise. He said the s2000 after being droped 1 inch did not have enough wheel travel to acomidate a progessive spring, therefor to be safe and practical they gave the s a strait rate. Made sense to me but would be interesting to know if this was a douch I was talking with at Eibach or we have all been dooped. I'm not running them anymore so I guess I don't care as much as the next guy, but would be good to know.

Sorry but I am new guy to suspension..etd. When you guys talk about progressive and strait. be exact, what does that mean to me/driver? what is the difference between these two.??
