Low oil in my stook??
#1
I just checked the oil on my stook today. Have 750 miles on it. I checked the oil about twenty minutes after a 30 minute drive. The oil was only two notches above the "L" mark on the dipstick.
Is this normal?? Do I need to get my dealer to put more oil in. I am concerned because I have heard that the first batch of oil contains a special additive to help break in - that is why I wasnt planning to mess with the oil till 4000 miles.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Oil use during this period is normal due to rings seating, etc. mine did the same thing and now, after 16K miles, it no longer uses any oil between changes and hasn't for several thousand miles. Like the previous poster mentioned, just add dino oil up to the full mark.

In my case, I placed Mobil 5w-50 fully synthetic oil. A lot are saying on this board that a mineral based oil should be used for the first few thousand kilometers.
My uncle popped this question during a Mobil 1 seminar and they said, it doesn't really matter, just make sure there is oil. To come to think of it, F1 engines are brand new and I believe, they use fully synthetic oil.

F1 engines are made to go about 500 miles tops..They get broken down after every race & pistons & heads & rings are replaced so there is no break -in period for them.. The S2000 is engine is made for a few hundred thousand miles..There is a BREAK-IN period.. Synthetic oil do not let the ring seal correct..That is why you should not change to synthetic oil until after 5000 miles..
