Lots of S2k wrecks...

OK, a few thoughts from my head...
The S-02s are bad in "wet" conditions.
Point A: my ex-roommate (moron) decided to take my car for a ride in the rain last november. He's used to his truck and front wheel drive cars... Needless to say, one right turn with too much gas and... Curb, pole, body shop. about 3000 miles on the tires.
Point B: Last February I took the car to reno, over the mountains, thru the SNOW and got there without incident (over 7000 miles on them). I drove mostly like a grandma, but was able to do up to about 50 mph. I grew-up in Jersey, got my learners permit in the snow in my sister's camaro; plus had two firebird formulas.
The S-02s are not very forgiving when not in dry, but with enough experience and patience they can be managed.
I used to take my firebird to the local mall parking lot late at night after or during a good snow and drive it around to remind myself how it handled in a skid. Great experience; well worth the time!
the moral of the story? none, just be safe and don't do anything you're not sure how to counteract.

I actually think that you guys that grew up in the snow are pretty lucky. I have a friend that grew up in Minnesotta and he's a damn good driver when it comes to drifting and correcting for understeer conditions. He said he learned it all when he used to drive in the snow when he was younger.
Growing up in So Cal, I didn't get that chance. But I HATE snow.
