Ya, with all those little guages this guy had sprouting from his dash, he better be a "tuner"! Didn't have a front mount inter-cooler so I would guess it wasn't turbo.... in which case I have no idea what all the guages were.... maybe clocks.

it definately sucks to see people put pep boys shit on them.

[QUOTE=tenblade2001,May 6 2005, 08:28 AM]The spend 15K on the car and go to NAPA or Autozone for the high performace APC parts.

I have also seen a few other not so tastefully modified s2000's around recently.

it would be nice if Ricer's stuck to Neon's and civics.

Unfortunately, bad taste exists in every socio-economic class. Just because an S2000 cost more than a Civic or Neon...doesn't guarantee that the person who purchased it has taste.

I've seen "riced out"/ "pimped out" cars of every make...Mecedes, Bentleys and (funny you should mention...) yes even a Range Rover. In fact, one was sitting next to me the other day at a redlight. It was lowered and was riding on 24" chrome "Spinner" wheels. The truck even had chrome "curb feelers"(I didn't know they still made these...) on it. Believe it or not, it even had some kind of wing on the roof. What purpose would that serve???

Like it or not...the S2K is not immune to bad taste!

wish i could find a picture of the wing... i have never seen such a dumb looking wing. This is a horrible picture, but it looked something like that...... i would guess that the wing flaps at speed since there is nothing but a center mount.

Looks like the "Marga Hills" spoiler......

I wouldn't be so quick to assume so much about other S owners...

If you don't like it.......don't look at it.......

I don't know why it would bother you that a young owner would spend their money on heavy modding an S that isn't to your liking......

Worse case they make your S look even better....

I guess since you can get a nice used S2000 for under $18k that has opened the door to the ricers.?

I saw a yellow S2000 w/ a huge center mounted black wing and it had 4 seperate little pods for guages mounted on the hump around the speedo...??? It had some kind of body kit and a horrible looking dual exhaust that stuck out too far.

[Disclaimer] My S2000 has a big ebay wing on it too (click signature), but mine is actually functional.... and my car is not street legal. [/disclaimer]
I'd be willing to put a wing like that on my S if it had operational control surfaces and allowed the car fly. Short of that, I prefer the stock appearance.

Yeah, if they quit going to Pep Boys so damn much, they'd have enough money to buy a new 05 S.

Too bad you didn't have a camera to snap a picture and send it to www.riceboypage.com

From their website:
"What sets apart Rice-Boys from normal performance enthusiasts is that they are more concerned with the image of speed than they are about actual performace. Few Rice Rockets add the one option that can make a Civic begin to go fast -- a turbochager."

HAHAHAHA!

Warren
The other essential ingredient that they need to add is ... driving skill
