A lot of people hate the s2k... or love it too much

The quick explanation for what happened to your car - pathetic pussies exacting "revenge" for you having a nice car
The longer explanation - College is full of jealous children brought up by liberal jerk-off parents who never gave them proper moral training or a set of basic values. They have been told it's legit to seek pleasure by damaging the property of others, especially prosperous people.
Alternate possibility - Thuglife pawning anything not tied down so they can keep their habit satisfied

My C-class was broken into 3 times while I was in college - stolen radio/DVD player, etc. - when your car is a visible, higher-profile car, it's more easily targeted. My advice is if you live somewhat near school, leave the S at home and bum a ride to and from home or if finances allow, pick up a beater, scooter, etc. - Car cover, airtight bubble dome, etc - anything less than a solid steel cage around the car won't deter many people who are set on screwing around with your car.
Oh - make sure you pick up some seat locks - those are highly sought after too.

I have had similar problems in my dorm parking structure.
-people spitting on my car
-pouring stuff on it
-door dings
-antenna stolen twice
-hit and run on the car while it was parked
I haven't had my cover stolen. I dunno why someone would take it unless they had a s2k.
Other people in the garage have had their car stolen, I see trunks opened up with just the wiring left from their system in the trunk. I have seen a lightning by me that was keyed and a convertible eclipse with it's top cut.
Let me tell you though. An alarm is absolutely worthless. Nobody pays attention to them because there are always people with loud systems setting off car alarms and a bunch of people in trucks, f-bodies, rice etc. with loud as hell exhaust that always set off all the alarms in the garage. So even if you have one of those pager alarms so you could go check on your car when the alarm goes off, you would be running to it every hour.

J-Rock your 'liberal jerk-off' theory about auto vandalism is just plain bizzare. It has more to do with kids away from home binge drinking and then pissing, puking, kicking the nice shiny car just because its there. Parking a nice car in an unsecured campus lot is just asking for trouble.

These are classic and well documented facts about liberal ideology, and their offspring are more often than not the ones who are found damaging/vandalizing the property of others because they are not punished for their mistakes when young and have no values instilled in them. Clearly if we all just followed our feelings and did what we wanted civilized society would be a shambles within a short period of time (because all the car enthusiasts would carry weapons and blow away these shitheads that think they can get away with vandalizing our property ). This is why there's a balance between liberals and conservatives in this country, and that's what keeps things afloat. Too much of one or the other would sink the ship.
And yes, they're well aware of the fallacy of their belief system but of course they would never admit to it. (And oddly enough that falls right in line with how they act!)
The failure of the school security department to properly perform their duty in securing the lot just makes it even more likely that vandals will get away with their actions. When people become lax and don't do their job, it just encourages those doing wrong to continue doing so since they can get away with it. And if they catch someone it is only with proper follow-through and punishment for the criminal that you can put an end to that sort of crap by giving them a penalty for their actions that they will understand, be it monetary or societal. A fine and a note in their campus record (assuming they're a student - if not it would be turned over to the township's police department) and depending on the severity of the act, some community service should straighten someone out.
Or just let the owner of the car "have a few words" with them.
Besides, anyone binge drinking is putting a short end to their college career and isn't very intelligent in the first place.

watchysix,
I had at least SOME sympathy for your situation until your last post in response to Beave0101.
Your opinion, that you so boldly stated, is obviously one of immaturity itself. AND, you misunderstood Beave0101's point.
The point that Beave0101 was making is one that I agree with completely. His point was NOT that these acts are bound to happen in a campus parking lot, and that you just need to learn to deal.
Oh excuse me for missing his and your point. I didn't seem to get it with all that "hahahahahhahahahah" and "bitching" being exposed in his thread. This is a situation that I can control. I am seriously pursuing a camera system for my car. I've researched several types of surveillance systems and anti-theft devices and hopefully I can purchase one soon. It may seem too rumbustious in terms of security, and hell, I don't know even if it will work. But hey, I'm the type to hold the most impassioned grudge against somone who has trespassed against me. I don't care if it is some antagonist who has some vendetta against me or a drunken hoard of students. People are always deaf unless you force them to hear.
