All this talk made me curious, so I did some testing last night. During straight-line acceleration, my car consistently points to the LEFT when losing traction. I tested it over 10 times, using gears 1 through 3; the results were consistent. I found that by pointing the steering wheel a tad to the right of the center-point and making minor adjustments as necessary, I could prevent this completely, although this was less fun.
disclaimer: this was done on a track that was 100m wide, at under 20 mph, the tires didn't spin, no one was within 5 miles, and this post wasn't written by me.

Cedric ............. if you have the power, it's going to happen no matter what. As for variations in equipment, this would be an additional factor contributing to the degree which car pulls to the right. As would also road condition and the weather/temperture.

DJ ....... just for fun yesterday, it was 48 degrees and partly sunny here in NW Ohio. I was on a 4 lane street with very good pavement and very little traffic. In 1st gear I ran the car upto about 6 grand and thru a speed shift. The rear very predictably pulled to right and the pavement was dry. My car is stock and the S02s still have over 50% of their tread. I have noticed that below 50 degrees the S02s start lossing their to grip. Just an additional thought ! It's good to know your limitations and it preserves your paint.
