Default Looking for the most hp and tq numbers with H/I/E

which headers, intake, and exhaust would make the most power on an s2000? Thanks

they are all codependant.
any time you increase VE you should see a gain. truth is, some parts just dont work well together, as a team with volumetric efficiency as the goal.

so far, best intake has proven to be AEM V2.
id say depending on your engine, 2.0, or 2.2 is gonna depend on the gains you get.
as of late, the best header would be the J,s...... why. all the headers we have now, have 42.7 mm pipes for the primaries. the new J,s has 50 mm primaries. this is a huge jump, and i know the FI guys are gonna take advantage of this gain in exh side VE.

once youve done intake and header, then the exhaust side is gonna need to be picked carefully, one part of the equation you cant forget, is the cat. it does help with driveability, because its primary function in the performance map, is to provide backpressure. once removed, VE is gonna go up. but you may lose some torque, hopefully you made up for this with your intake side gains.
id say if you match up the J,s exhaust with the J,s header and maybe cat delete, you could count on a good clean exhaust gain. but, not everyone wants a single. you could get anything spugen, amuse dual ti, GP sports, or whatever your fav is. but i wouldnt top off nice parts, with a crappy exhaust.
anyways, thats my two cents. take it easy, and i hope you all haul ass. lates dave

AEM V2 have good gains but a lot of ppl don't like it cuz the response is not good. Mugen, J's or stock box with snorkel does have better response in accleration.

No no no.....backpressure is a myth...it is ALWAYS a bad thing. You don't want backpressure...it does NOT help with low end torque.

The issue that impacts low end torque is the velocity of exhaust gasses. Generally speaking, higher velocity exhaust gasses will help with scavenging and can improve power output. For the highest exhaust gasses velocity you would want the smallest diameter pipe, however this can cause restriction in the system and reduce performance. Increasing the diameter of the pipe will reduce restriction in the system but it will also reduce the exhaust gas velocity(imagine a water flowing through a small hose and a large hose, which one flows faster?). IF you reduce exhaust gas velocity too much you will negatively affect scavenging and can reduce the torque at certain rev ranges.

With exhausts bigger is NOT always better, too big if you're NA can hurt performance. Now if you're FI you want the highest flowing exhaust out there.

For NA exhausts, the best design is a balance between restriction in the system and reduction in exhaust velocity. The perfect exhaust would have no restriction and maximum exhaust gas velocity.

I am currently running:

V2
Spoon Header
Spoon N1 exhaust
Mugen thermostat/fan switch/rad cap

The butt meter says it pulls HARD... I will be installing a proflow TB, Hondata gasket, and VAFC2. I should be done installing these mods in a week or two and I will post dyno results.
