Looking into S2000 - again
Hi guys,
A year ago I looked into S2000's, but back then, I needed a backseat and hatch for work. I ended up getting a Mazdaspeed3 over the S2000 for that reason. Now I'm reconsidering because I no longer have the need for the extra room.
Two questions:
What is a fair price for a 2004 - 2006 S2000 with 25-40,000 miles? A dealer has one that I'm interested in that is going for $22,000. It's an '05 with 26K and 0 blemishes, is this a good price?
I would be supercharging the car in the near future and I would be happy with 325 - 350 whp. Is that an unrealistic figure for around $5000 - $6000?.
Thanks for future responses!

I would rather buy from a private seller. You can save a bunch of money. It's a calculated risk if you know what you should be looking for. You do also get the opportunity to see how the previous owner treated the car, which you don't get through a dealership unless you believe all dealerships only accept trade ins from 90 year old grandma's looking to get rid of their favorite sports car.
I think 5-6k for the supercharger kit is feasable. However, that won't include all the extras. I haven't SC'd yet but I'm trying to anticipate as much as I can. Figure tuning, new tools you don't yet have, odds and ends, possibly upgraded clutch/flywheel, etc.

I only have about 5 S2000's local to me, 3 of which are AP1's, the others include the one I am looking at, and a frame damaged one (yea, I could tell).
I don't want to go much farther out in my search for now, but I'll keep my options open

It's way overpriced but looks pretty nice. I would say it was a good deal for around 16-17K but definitely not 20 grand for it. It's 5 years old now. Brand new CR's have been sold for 25 grand so work them down a few thousand and if all checks out go for it.

^Hmmm if fair and overpriced are the same then yeah lol.
If you look around or negotiate with the dealer the price should come way down. If you can get a brand new one for about 5 grand more there is no way that 20 grand for an '05 with 26k on it is a good price.
