Looking to get a used s2k, insurance question...
How's it going everyone, new to the forum. First of all, this winter I will be handing my 06 Altima down to my sister (along with the payments) and will be in the market for something. I've thought about it over and over, and I definitely want an S2000, preferably used under 50k miles in the $15-20k range.
My question is, what do you all pay for insurance per month? I am 23.... and I have indeed been in one accident. I actually went to progressive recently for a quote, and they said 205/month, which I though was solid, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. That did indeed include my accident though. I guess if you guys could give me some numbers, I'd feel much better about investing into the S2k. Late November is when this will probably all go down, as my salary is going to increase (right now I'm in a 90 day eval period in an IT dept.... honestly not sure how much I'll be bumped to).
I guess if anyone is looking to sell their S2k, hit me up also, I'm very serious about this.
Also, if it matters, my car before the Altima was an 02 SE-R Spec V, and I've been hurting to get back into something sporty ever since I got rid of it.

I'm 21 with one accident on my record and I pay ~120/mo from geico with decent coverage.
You should be able to find plenty of s2000's in your price range and criteria, esp now when the market isn't as hot (winter + convertible sports car = slower market). You should try and narrow it down, do you want AP1 or AP2, colors and things you want in the car (02+ AP1's have glass windows and nicer interior etc).

As said in countless other threads, insurance price varies greatly from local to local for similar spec cars/drivers and also depends on specific coverage and deductibles.
I pay 103/mo for full coverage with 500/500 deduct. with SafeCo with a clean record and two minor claims for windshield chip repair (doesnt affect my premium though).

I'm aiming at 02+, if I can get an AP2 in my range I'll probably go for it, just b/c they look a bit more modern, I'd be fine with either motor. I would preferably have a black s2k, but right now there is a red one I'm keeping my eye on. I live in FL by the way, so winter is not existent : ).

I have an 04 and I am 29. I pay around $100 per month for full coverage w/ 1 accident. Be sure to carry a low deductible for comprehensive coverage. If someone cuts into your top, steals your seats, or even your car, that is a comprehensive claim. You can offset higher premiums by having a high collision deductible like $500 or $1000. Collision claims are at fault accidents. Also, make sure you carry good liability limits. Bodily injury limits at $100K and Prop Damage at $50K or $100K.

I'm in IL. 21 years old. I drive an 01 with 45k miles
and I pay $50/mo for full coverage (accident, medical, flood, fire, theft/vandalism, etc.)
I'm still on my parents policy, and I get to stay there till I graduate law school! how freakin sweet is that?!
