Lookin At S2000, have Some Questions
Ok so i was just in the city and fell in love w/ a black 2000 S2000, the salesman was being a butthole though and wouldnt let me take it for a test drive until he found out if i was approved for credit, unforuately it was to late in the day so i have to wait till tuesday...
But anyways i have been lookin at these amazing cars for the past few months and i know a bit about them, i have driven one at work... So now if i get approved for the loan for the car is there anything specific i should look for when i go to get the car before i sign the papers? Anything that these cars are known to have problems with? And mainly could i drive it year round threw rain, snow and everything else mother nature throws at it??? Cuz thats the main question i have. But just for the record i have driven a mustang for the past 2 winters w/ no traction control or ABS and had no problems at all

where do you live?
The S2K is not the best snow car. It is very light and prone to oversteer. I live in Florida so take my words about snow with a grain of salt. I am sure other members here that live in colder climates can speak with more intelligence about the S2K in the snow.
Things to look for:
1. Holes / wear in the top. The top can be very expensive to replace and is prone to tearing after a few years.
2. Correct tire sizes. With the stock 16s you should be running a 245 in the rear, unless you have the OEM Potenza SO3's which are correct at 225..
3. Oil. make sure the oil is good and check it often. The earlier S2Ks can burn oil.
4. Gold-diggers. Many ladies over estimate the value of this car and will sleep with you thinking that you are rich and famous. By the time she figures out that you are neither, it's too late you've already moved on to another.
5. Overconfidence: This car will instill a great deal of confidence in your driving abilities... and one day you will push things too far. Make sure you do this on a track or Auto-X course for the safety of yourself and those that surround you.
It's the best car I have ever owned. (Former 67 Mustang Fastback GT owner)
