He must be a restaurant critic filling in for the vacationing automotive editor! What a knucklehead.

This guy that prefers the looks of a Miata probably wears pink pants too.

S2K is a "drivers car" and a novice driver will more than likely never appreciate its true values. My other favorite car owned was a 1989 Pont. T/A with the 6-bang Grand National motor. 1500 made with minor alterations would run high 11's to mid 12's. A burst in turbo with the 200R auto-trans would send all but the experienced driver in the weeds when it shifted to 2nd. I often think about which was my favorite that or my S2K. I think the S2K... it gets more looks.

The best way to descibe this bullet is it's like a Jap street bike. Down low nothing.... 6500-9100 it's an animal that wants to chew up most any V-8 that dares to enter its path. Best looking car for the money.

Dave

I'm assuming that you mean by this the 80+ set that you so often run into on the streets down there in Florida.

I don't know what cars he supposedly owned but maybe the Super Beetle was his favorite! Not pretty, Miata almost as good. Rightttt. And just think, he gets paid to mouth off about something he can't understand.

It says his name is Dan Jedlicka but I think it's really Captain Dipshit.

he says :

"Well, fine, but I'd be very cautious driving the car on, say, icy Chicago area winter roads"

mmmm... I think I've heard a similar story around here....

That review is pretty old -- pre-2001 model, since Spa Yellow Pearl is not a color option and the windblocker is only an option. Since we all know that 2001 Spa's are the essence of sports car perfection, I am sure his review would be different if he had driven my car.
