Man that is f-in gross. How did it get in through the little opening of the box? Or in your engine bay for that matter?

Curiousity strikes again.

BTW, first a bird, then a cat.. what's next, a dog?

is it a cat or is it a squirrel? It almost looks like it has a baby too? Maybe I am just seeing something else...

So, could you not smell it at all? Just wondering because it must have started to stink when you drove the car....

I don't know, those don't look like feathers to me. I'm guessing cat, squirrel sounds like a possibility, or maybe a rat?

I don't envy you having to clean that out.

Have fun!

PS: That's one hell of a way to go! Slow cooked under the hood! <yuk>

t was a squirrel. had it in there for probably about a week. My garage started smelling about 4 days ago and since I don't drive my car much we couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from. When I finally pulled the car out yesterday the smell went out of the garage so we figured it was coming from the car. At first I thought it was the clutch. I had my oil changed recently and thought maybe the honda tech fried the clutch during the test drive. It smelled just like it.

It was NOT fun to take that shit out. There were maggots EVERYWHERE. There still a bunch in there now. NOTHING kills these ers.

Anyone know how to take the filter out? Do I just pull it straight out? I need to take it out to shake off the maggots from the crevices.

This winter I found about a pound of dry dog food pellets inside my air box, presumably stashed there by a mouse. Would tie wrapping a piece of coarse screen over the opening restrict the airflow too much?
