Me no likee add-ons, let alone repli-addons. They lokk so...so..added.
There was a guy who had a replica and amuse was its name-oh
B-O-N-D-O!
B-O-N-D-O!
B-O-N-D-O!
And Bondo was his answer.
Maybe a paintable silicone is a better idea, but you can always Bondo, and sand it down if you come to your senses..I mean, remove it a later date. Good luck!

Some of this sounds like installation error/ignorance.
I have allways liked this lip and follow just about any thread I come across dealing with it--I have read about gaps with both original and knock offs.
I belive the poly versions would benefit highly from an installation after sitting in the sun for a while. Also looking into the methods others have mentioned about shiming/spacing so little to no gap appears.
There was even a thread not too long ago with the exact same complaint (about the poly knock-off), and someone who knew how to install it properly came over and elliminated all the gap.

Even if you shim it it still looks like CRAP!!!!!and as far as I am cancerned you shouldn't have to shim anything. The parts these people are making and selling should fit perfect or damn closer than this.

I expect the lower it is fitted the more play you will have. Try the suggestion of some washers at the mounting points to lower it a bit.
Oh, and yes, leave it lying in the sun for an hour or so beforehand. It'll probably expand and at least be more pliable.
