Default LOOK a brand new Z0.. OHH NO

driving home from work yesterday passing the local chevy dealer , get stuck at a light right before the dealership , as im waiting for the light to turn green i notice a brand new nice shiny corvette leave the parking lot temp plates and all, there going in the same direction i am so when the light turns green i speed up to admire the car, a woman in her late 30's im guessing is driving with her husband ?? in the passangers seat, i didnt get a good look at the front of the car but as i was on the side of the car i noticed the z06 badging, at this point i got jealous, damn i want that car!!, further down the road we both get caught at a light this time im going straight and the z06 is making a right, i was staring at the back of the car as the signal was flashing to the right, not paying attention to anything else, next thing i notice the zo6 gets side swiped by a BUS!!!! as the z06 was turning , i guess the lady wasnt paying attention the bus hit her on the bottom left hand side of her bumper and pushed the car into the curb and into one of those little bus stop things u see on the corner. at this point im like , it wasnt a high impact hit, the bus more like pushed the z06 onto the curb and into that thing, the passangers were fine, but the car isnt, i wasnt there long enough to know exactly what kind of condition the car was in, but it was definetly hurting, im glad that noone was hurt, but at the same time it goes to show what happens when you dont pay attention

I suppse that if she just picked up the car, she was a bundle of nerves and, like you said, wasn't paying attention. I kinda get that way when I get a new car. Once i get better acquainted with it that feeling goes away. It is a sad story though .

A few weeks ago negcamber and I watched a guy slide a brand new ZO6 into a curb hard. It broke a chunk out of a rear wheel and left him with + camber on one side and - camber on the other. Ouch!

Temp plates? Like the kind dealers put on when you go for a test drive? Maybe she was on a test-drive and the guy next to her was the salesman. Just trying to picture the best outcome

I've always wondered about that. You're required to insure a brand new car within ten days of its purchase, right? So does that mean that this person has to pay out of pocket for the repairs? Does the dealership cover?

Actually your current insurance is transferrable to the new car during that 10 day interval. If you still don't aquire a policy after the 10 days is up, then the money would come out of your pocket.

If you financed the car and didn't already have full coverage insurance on a previous vehicle, then the bank wouldn't provide you with the check until you obtained insurance.
