Locked out - broke into the car
I've been lurking around here for upwards of a year now and really haven't found much need to post since the search icon at the top of the page has been my best friend.
I searched high and low and was unable to find anything pertaining to my problem. Here ya go:
So I'm on a date with the neighbor's wife today and I opened the passenger door to let her in and then I "popped the trunk" with the button on the key fob and threw a shopping bag in there and closed the lid. While doing this, I accidentally threw the keys in there with it. I usually keep my radar and my ipod in the center console glovebox so I had it locked. We were running late and I had to get her home so I "jimmy'd" the glovebox open (this was relatively easy to do) but I broke the thin plastic piece that holds the bottom portion of the door on . The door will still close and it even locks too, but it really wiggles a lot and with very little effort I can still take the door off even when it's locked.
Question: What am I looking at in terms of $$ to repair/replace this item, and is it available online so I don't have to go to the dealership?
Thanks.
