I have lowered my car about an inch and I will need to do an alignment.
I plan to do the alignment at Firestone. They will charge about $70 for a one-time alignment. However, they also offer a lifetime alignment for about $140.
Should I get the lifetime alignment? How often are you supposed to get an alignment? Does a lowered car need to have an alignment more frequently than a non-lowered car?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

don't expect them to align it to YOUR specifications. They'll do it in the factory range. It is a lot more work do get a specific spec.
They don't need alignment that often really. I usually do it only after a major change or if I notice it is not tracking right or the tires wear too fast.

Well, more than once that's for sure, so the $140 is a good deal. However, the question is, do you trust that Firestone shop to align your S? They do seem to give a pretty good printout of the the alignments before and after. You would really probably want to sit in the car or have them weight the driver seat to get a proper alignment. Will they do that? Do you trust that they will not fcuk up your undercarriage with the lift?

i would strongly advise against just any old alignment place...
and would suggest taking it to a place that does high end cars for an "aggressive street alignment".
mine is dropped on eibachs and had darin do the alignment (west end alignment)-
not that far for you and you can have the best for about the same price that you suggest that the "volume" places charge-
i would let the new springs "settle" for a week or two and then get it aligned. imo, no such thing as a lifetime alignment unless you are driving your granny to church in a straight line on sundays and nothing else!! (i am sure that they really do not mean align it once for life- they mean they will align it as often as the car needs- but it sounds funnier the other way!)
